The International Kangaroo Math Contest (IKMC) is a prestigious contest in the world. In 2016, the contest attracted more than 6,000,000 contestants in 70 countries including Vietnam. The contest aims at broadening the interest of learning Math, specializing in developing critical thinking skills through multiple-choice questions and real-world content.

In March 2016, the first IKMC was held in Vietnam by IEG Foundation - a philanthropic arm of IEG Global* in collaboration with University of Education - Vietnam National University. We successfully held 5 locations in Hanoi and 1 location in Ho Chi Minh City.

The first contest attracted more than 6000 contestants from 327 schools in 17 provinces and cities across the country. Its success played a part in establishing a Math community that is on par with the international standard, which encourages students to thrive.

After 8 year of successfully organized, the number of participants has risen significantly over each year (2016 to 2018) and are predicted to keep this pace in the following years. The contest stimulated the interest and passion for Math as well as encouraged students’ positive learning attitudes according to international standard orientation.

After 8 years of organizing professionally and quality, the IKMC has spread widely and attracted more and more students who love maths to participate. The number of contestants increased rapidly through 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and is expected to continue to grow strongly in the following years.
